Mercedes-Benz Enhances Its Modular and Scalable Van Architecture

All new vans will be based on Mercedes-Benz’s modular, versatile, and scalable Van Architecture. Beginning in 2026, completely electric vehicles will be launched under the Van Electric Architecture (VAN.EA). The second form of the architecture, the Van Combustion Architecture (VAN.CA), will feature cutting-edge combustion engine vans.

Regardless of the drivetrain, this new vehicle architecture provides for a clear distinction between personally positioned luxury vans and professionally positioned carriers in the premium sector. Both models, VAN.EA and VAN.CA, share around 70% of similar parts and will be manufactured on the same assembly line. This innovative van architecture enables optimum synergies, resulting in economies of scale. Mercedes-Benz Vans is establishing a competitive market position for the future by offering a highly adaptable product line.
