The first quantum computer in Saudi Arabia will be installed at Pasqual, a startup business based in Paris, which recently established a cooperation with the state oil giant Aramco (2222.SE).
A 200-cubit quantum computer that Pasqual will build, maintain, and run is expected to be put into service in the second part of 2025. “Through this partnership, we’ll be at the forefront of accelerating commercial adoption of this transformative technology in Saudi Arabia,” declared Georges-Olivier Raymond, co-founder and CEO of Pasqual.

Alain Aspect, one of its founders, won the 2022 Nobel Prize in Physics for his experiments in quantum mechanics that provided the foundation for quantum computing. Pasqual previously sold two quantum computers to France and Germany.
It is anticipated by scientists that in the future, quantum computers may be able to perform specific calculations millions of times quicker than current supercomputers.
