IT IT The first private 5G smart office in the financial sector in Korea is being built by Samsung, SK Telecom, and Hana Financial Group. -

Today, Samsung Electronics declared that it is the only supplier of its private 5G network solutions, which power a smart workplace at the new headquarters of Hana Financial Group in Incheon, South Korea. This new linked office, the first of its type in the Korean banking sector, satisfies the industry’s strict security standards while improving mobility and laying the groundwork for business AI transformation (AX).

Hana Financial Group constructed a massive smart office that houses thousands of workers, many group affiliates, and 16 floors of its headquarters in partnership with SK Telecom and Samsung. Employees may access a seamless work environment at any time and from any location using 5G-enabled laptops, tablets, and mobile devices. In addition to lowering the time and resources required to rearrange the facility, this improved connectivity promotes more agile working practices, increases employee productivity, and makes better use of office space. Additionally, it establishes the foundation for integrating AI into everyday processes.

Wi-Fi adoption is mostly prohibited due to security concerns and cyber dangers since financial institutions manage extremely sensitive data, such as clients’ credit and bank information, and operate under stringent network-separation regulations. This project uses a multi-layered security system that only allows approved devices and registered users to access the network. It includes increased encryption, a firewall, DDoS protection, and USIM-based authentication.

Samsung delivered its whole stack of network solutions comprising radios, baseband, and cloud-native core, enabling the mid-band (4.7 GHz) spectrum designated to private 5G networks in Korea. Network slicing, which separates a single physical network infrastructure into several virtual slices, each devoted to a particular application, is made possible by Samsung’s 5G Standalone Core. The subsidiaries of Hana Financial Group will each have access to distinct network slices as a result of this deployment, providing autonomous operating environments customized to meet specific security regulations and commercial requirements.
