Cebu, Philippines, will host the First UN Tourism Regional Forum on Gastronomy Tourism for Asia and the Pacific on June 26–27, 2024. Asia and Pacific’s First Regional Forum on Gastronomy
The Basque Culinary Center (BCC), an Affiliate Member of UN Tourism, and the organization that organizes the Forum each year are about to launch the event in the region after years of global success. This first regional edition, which is being hosted by the Government of the Philippines, aims to bring together professionals and member states committed to strengthening the role of culinary tourism in destination development.
A ministerial debate to explore policies aimed at advancing the region’s culinary tourism agenda will be hosted by the Forum.
The growth of sustainable gastronomic tourism depends on the preservation of regional customs and the protection of the environment. To that end, a panel discussion will explore creative solutions using cases from Sri Lanka, the Philippines, and Japan. In addition, Lionel Dabbadie, the FAO representative for the Philippines, representatives from JTB Corporation, the largest travel agency in Japan, and representatives from Jeju Tourism Organization (Republic of Korea) will present on two of UN Tourism’s Best Tourism Villages, Sehwa and Dongbaek. The event will also welcome the participation of destinations and experts actively engaged in the advancement of gastronomy tourism as a tool for social inclusivity.
In addition, as part of a continuous effort to support sustainability, participants will investigate economical and ecologically friendly ways to optimize the use of locally sourced ingredients and reduce food waste through prevention, circularity, and climate change initiatives within the gastronomy tourism industry.
This Forum, which is expected to have 200 attendees, will also be broadcast live. The deadline for registrations is June 16, 2024.
Unquestionably believe that which you said. Your favorite justification seemed to be on the internet the simplest thing to be aware of. I say to you, I certainly get annoyed while people consider worries that they plainly don’t know about. You managed to hit the nail upon the top and defined out the whole thing without having side-effects , people could take a signal. Will probably be back to get more. Thanks
