On the banks of the Danube, 14 km from Belgrade, there is a prehistoric site and it belongs to the Belo brdo site. Vinča is an archaeological site, which is very important for the history of ancestors. The plot itself covers 10 hectares of land.
During the excavations in 1908, led by Dr. Miloj Vasić, knowledge was gained about numerous houses, dugouts, and prehistoric times.
Treasures of tools, weapons made of stone and bones, dishes for everyday use, richly decorated vases, a large number of anthropomorphic and zoomorphic figurines, jewelry from the period of about 4500 – 3200 BC from the time of Central Europe, Lower Danube or the Mediterranean were discovered in Vinča.
