The squad, matched on points with a Ferrari driver team from AF Corse, went to Imola as the leaders in the standings. Together with their German teammate Fabio Rauer, the two Italians, Rocco Mazzola and Riccardo Cazzaniga, finished second in the Pro classification in the three-hour race on the Grand Prix circuit in Emilia-Romagna, northern Italy. This was sufficient to take sole command of the overall rankings.
The three drivers currently lead their nearest competitors by 19 points ahead of the last race in Mugello in mid-September. Ramez Azzam, Omar Jackson, and Axcil Jefferies placed third in the Pro-Am division, 96 thousandths of a second behind the runners-up, while the Antiguan Haas RT team also earned a class podium position for Audi at Imola. Broc Feeney and Brad Schumacher are now 31 points behind the leaders in the standings with two events left. Renee Gracie finished second on Saturday and first in the amateur division on Sunday, while Paul Stokell/Matt Stoupas of KFC Team MPC in an Audi won the Trophy classification in both races.
In the Audi R8 LMS, she increased her lead in this category to 74 points. As in the first race the previous day, Leonardo Moncini/Sebastian Øgaard in a Tresor Attempto Racing Audi R8 LMS finished third. In the second Silver Cup race, Ivan Klymenko/Lorens Lecertua finished third in the Audi R8 LMS, giving Saintéloc Racing another podium result. The final sprint classification titles will be decided in Valencia at the end of September. On the fourth racing weekend of the Spezial Tourenwagen Trophy, Thomas Westarp won his first race of the year.
He won the second race during the ADAC Racing Weekend at Oschersleben while driving the Audi R8 LMS for the CCS Racing Team, eight tenths of a second ahead of Mercedes-AMG driver Kenneth Heyer. It gave Land-Motorsport great pleasure to win another trophy. In their Audi R8 LMS, Pierre Lemmerz and Alexander Kroker finished the first race in second place, behind Heyer. The FullinRace by Interaction team finished on the podium three times in Most during the fourth round of the Central European GT Cup Series.
In the opening sprint, Petr Fulín led his team’s Audi R8 LMS to victory in the GT3 class, and he finished third overall. The Czech driver finished second overall and won his class once more in the second sprint. Sota Ogawa dominated the endurance race in the early going. The competition was marked by strong gusts, shifting weather patterns, and safety car phases. After five hours of competition, the driver combination of Anna Inotsume/Sota Ogawa/James Pull/Kenji Suzuki came in second, 8.3 seconds behind. After four hours of racing in the Stradale Motorsport Audi R8 LMS, Brad Liebenberg/Ryan Naicker finished third in the fourth round of the South African Endurance Series in Kyalami.
