MHEV Plus

The new Audi A6 Avant is more agile, efficient, and digital than ever. It represents first-class travel like no other car in the premium full-size segment. Modern gasoline and diesel engines improve performance while lowering CO₂ emissions thanks to the mild hybrid technology MHEV plus Plus. On long trips and in the city, the adaptive air suspension and all-wheel steering provide both high driving comfort and agile handling. The remarkable drag coefficient of 0.25, the best result for an Audi Avant with a combustion engine, indicates high efficiency and exhibits the ideal balance of form and function.

The exterior represents the vehicle’s athletic, stylish personality and, with new digital lighting technology, provides the A6 Avant a commanding presence. The vehicle also stands out for its simple and systematic user-friendly operation and infotainment design, which includes an Audi MMI panoramic display and a front passenger display.

Audi CEO Gernot Döllner: “We are writing the next chapter in our Avant history: The new Audi A6 unites an elegant and dynamic design with exceptional aerodynamics. Efficient yet high performance drive systems and cutting-edge suspension technology combine sportiness with a high level of comfort, making traveling in the A6 a first-class experience.” With this model, the company is also continuing its major product initiative that began in 2024. The modernization and rejuvenation of the product portfolio is part of the Audi Agenda, with which Audi is positioning itself for the future in the face of intensified competition. “With the A6, we are now renewing an important model series,” said Döllner.

The ideal combination: design and aerodynamics

The A6 Avant’s minimalist design expresses a utilitarian and timeless character. This is apparent in both its design and aerodynamics, with a drag coefficient of 0.25, the greatest figure for a combustion-engine Avant at Audi.In addition to the enormous air curtains and variable cool-air intakes at the front, the stunning roof spoiler and aerodynamic panels on the sides of the rear window contribute significantly to this aerodynamic success.

The dynamic rear with a diffuser symbolizes Avant’s signature style. The rear underlines the model’s aggressive look when combined with the four blisters that emerge forcefully from the shoulder region and the broad track. At the same time, its long wheelbase and expanded bonnet exude elegance and complete the A6 Avant’s flawless proportions.

Powerful and affordable: MHEV plus technology

The exceptional driving experience is largely due to the MHEV and mild hybrid technology drives. This kind of partial electrification is also present in the 3.0 TFSI six-cylinder engine with 270 kW (367 PS)² and the 2.0 TDI four-cylinder engine with 150 kW (204 PS)¹. The MHEV + system lowers carbon emissions, improves performance and driving comfort, and complements the combustion engine. A 48-volt battery, a belt alternator starter (BAS), and a powertrain generator (PTG) with integrated power electronics make up the system’s three primary parts. Fully electric parking and maneuvering are made possible by the PTG. Additionally, the A6 Avant uses electric power when coasting to the next hamlet or when traveling slowly in the city or in slow-moving traffic.

The chassis and handling provide a balance between sportiness and comfort.

The new A6 Avant achieves the ideal balance of sportiness and comfort, due in part to optional equipment like all-wheel steering and adjustable air suspension, the latter of which controls body height and shock absorption. Furthermore, the Quattro sport differential provides even more agility. The standard progressive steering in the new A6 Avant responds even more directly. The whole line from the steering wheel to the wheels is stiffer than in the previous model. This comprises the torsion bar, a tightly fastened steering rack, and stronger control arm bushings. Camber on the front axle has been slightly increased.

All-wheel steering is offered as an option with quattro all-wheel drive. It employs a dynamic function whose reaction time has been enhanced further. At low speeds, the rear wheels can turn up to five degrees in the opposite direction as the front wheels. As a result, the automobile is more nimble in city traffic and tight turns, with a turning radius decreased by up to one meter. At medium and high speeds, the rear wheels revolve in the same direction, providing steady and even more accurate handling.

The interior offers superior comfort and digital features.

The cabin also provides first-class travel with enough room and cutting-edge technology. The operational philosophy prioritizes the driver and elevates the digital experience with panoramic and passenger displays. Personalization is key here, especially the lighting. The driver can select between seven digital light signatures in the front and rear. Active portions that actively brighten and fade clearly demonstrate the unique technology, particularly when combined with the second-generation digital OLED rear lights. They have a high recognition value while also improving traffic safety. Digital lighting technology, which is an integral component of Audi DNA, contributes to a more comfortable and safe driving experience.

Numerous first-rate amenities, such as the movable panoramic glass roof, contribute to the overall positive experience. It enhances the expansive impression of space and lets the driver choose between a light-filled cabin and effective shade. Bang & Olufsen’s premium sound system with 3D sound ensures an exceptional sound experience, with speakers in the front headrests allowing for personalized listening enjoyment. The foundation for this is advanced aeroacoustics and general vehicle acoustics, which are at the greatest level due to enhanced sound insulation, among other considerations.

The price start at 58,000 euros.

Beginning in March 2025, the redesigned Audi A6 Avant will be available for purchase. The starting price for the entry-level TFSI 150 kW engine is 58,000 euros. Starting at 61,700 euros, the 2.0 TDI with MHEV plus technology will be available. Customers will receive their first cars by the end of May 2025.
